New car

"The time has come", the walrus said, "to speak of many things. Of shoes, and ships, and sealing wax, and cabbages, and kings..." and maybe new cars.
The time had come. With both our cars fast approaching or over 200,000 miles, it was time to let one go. We decided on my Jetta. While I am a bit attached to the car, I fully realize that it is time. I bought my car fully loaded and cherried-out before I was married and thinking of practical things like kids, gas mileage, and the cost of replacing parts. I just liked the car, the new leather, the V6 engine, the way it drove......ahhh, my Jetta. Made of cheap, plastic, beautiful, expensive parts.
BUT, now Toyota is offering great deals (financing) to people like us who can qualify (because of our awesome economy right now haha), and we really needed something reliable. So after two days of haggling (which was fun staying at the dealership all day with two lively kids), we brought this guy home. (Hunter says it's a boy)
It's the sports model, so it doesn't scream "gee-I'm-a-mom", and it gets better gas mileage. It's still a manuel so I still get to have fun driving it. Yes, I like to "feel the road" and get up and go, and love driving a stick. Not quite as big on the inside, but it's really nice and great for our family of four (the dark interior was a must with messy kids).
We looked at our budget, it works out, and this is what we have. The choice was blue or silver. Tone picked blue, and I like it. Though I fully expect mockery from Josh, Katie, and Krista (they know the reason - it's an inside joke sibling thing).
Our new (mostly mine) lovely, lovely car.......here he is......tada!

Hunter is sleeping in his seat in there. I guess staying all day at the dealership was too tiring for the little guy.

  1. Cute! Although I am kind of sad your Jetta is gone. I always look for the purple Jetta to tell me that you're here.

  4. Hey if you wanted a teal blue car I had one that you could have had. At least Tone's color preference is a lot like dad's.
