So I'm a little excited.....

I packed for Thailand 4 days early. Yes, I just had to know whether I could get everything in the backpack PLUS all the books I wanted to bring. So I packed and I had extra room. Enough for three new books. In fact, Tone took a look at my pack and thought it looked a little on the thin side for 10 days. He said was going to pack a lot more than that! Wow! I'm totally impressed with myself! I packed lighter than the MAN. But I triple checked my list and haven't forgotten anything, and have more than enough clothes I think. So we went today to get some last minute things for our trip and I bought three new books. Remember we aren't checking luggage, so everything has to fit in a carry on sized backpacking backpack. We will be there for 10 days, so I have to pack thoughtfully.

I'll be bringing my small Bible, two Bible study books that I am working on, and my new books.
I bought:
Twilight (yes, I am going to attempt to see what all the hype is all about. I'm skeptical, but I was skeptical about Harry Potter and then I devoured them like everyone else)
A thick Agatha Christie Hercule Periot mystery (it's amazing I found one that I haven't read)
A Thousand Splendid Suns, by Khaled Hosseini (I read The Kite Runner and found it very thought provoking and so I am going to read the next one, which I have heard is equally sad but worthwhile)

I'll take a picture of the pack just to prove that I am doing quite well with a light load. I have done this before though. I spent a whole summer in China with only a backpack's worth of stuff, and I packed light then too, so I could fill it up with souveniors when I came home. I did too. I brought a ton of stuff back that I carefully wrapped in my clothes.
